Mapping the Haitian Revolution

INTERDISCIPLINARY INSTRUCTORS: STEPHANIE CURCI, CHRIS JONES

Alongside their fellowship project, Mapping the Haitian Revolution, Stephanie Curci and Chris Jones teach an interdisciplinary course on the Haitian Revolution and its Caribbean and American consequences. Topics include abolitionism, sentimental literature, national histories, collective memory, and the terms of legitimate revolution. Collaborating with local and Haitian scholars, they also created a digital mapping tool that explored the complex narrative of the Haitian Revolution and offers resources in the digital humanities for teachers, students, and organizations to learn about the rich history of Haiti.
